Before getting back behind the turntables as Sir Tone & Twang, I worked as a recording engineer and spent years fronting live bands. That background shapes how I play a room. I read the crowd like a bandleader and pace a stack of records with the feel of a live set.
Alongside playing out, I produce and host radio specials and shows on WPKN 89.5 FM. My crates are packed with original pressings of funk, soul, disco, and twangy stuff, plus a deep archive of vintage 60s and 70s film scores.
Every set is 100% vinyl on two turntables and a mixer. I pull records to fit the space, whether I'm setting the mood for an early evening crowd or keeping the energy high from the first track to the last.
